Happy Birthday, LaDonna!

When I first heard the words “You have breast cancer,” everything in my world tilted. It stunk, but you tilt with the world and power on!

Not unlike the founders of the nonprofit Breastie Boxes of Fort Wayne, a company created by survivors for people suddenly thrown into a sea of scans, surgeries, fear, and decisions no one ever asks to make. Their mission is simple and beautiful: To give comfort, hope, and something good on a day that truly feels like garbage.

When I walked out of the surgeon’s office that day, I wasn’t empty-handed. I left with a big bright pink box of inspiration. In the middle of a storm, someone handed me a little sunshine.

Now, I celebrate every moment and cherish what God and my doctors have given me. 😘 And as my 42nd birthday rolls around, I’m holding tight to the gift of more time on this earth and I want to pay that forward.

If you’re able, I would love your help supporting this incredible nonprofit. A donation of $42 (for my 42 trips around the sun!) helps brighten someone’s darkest day and reminds them they’re not facing this alone.

If cancer teaches you anything, it’s that silver linings matter.

So here’s my birthday wish: Help me bring a little hope to someone with a terrible ta-ta diagnosis.

Much love, friends. 💕
